1. Kestley had to return to the Dr. because her ear infection came back. So another round of antibiotics finally cleared it up.
2. Trey had his first Christmas program at school. He did a wonderful job singing his songs and saying his part.
3. For young womens we had a lady come and teach us how to make those cool candles that have flowers or leaves on the outsides of them. It was a lot of fun and a new skill that is good to have.
4. One Saturday, my mom, Jeff's mom and sister and some of his cousins and aunts all get together and spend a day making cookies and treats. We also have the kids come over and decorate sugar cookies. It is fun to see how much they have grown from year to year. Last year Trey was happy to dump bottles and bottles of sprinkles on his cookies. This year he took the time to put them on one at a time. All in all, everyone had a good day and we ended up with way too many good treats to eat.
5. Tenley celebrated her first birthday. She was so excited about the cake and jumped right in. Also, she got right into ripping open the presents. I guess having older siblings that she has been watching for a year helped her to understand what she was supposed to do. Tenley is such a joy to have in our lives. She is always happy and has bright eyes and her whole face lights up when she is happy. She definitely knows how to hold her own against her siblings and isn't afraid to get right in the middle of things.
6. During the month of December Tenley had four front top teeth come in.
7. This year we had an elf come and visit our house for the month of December. He did all sorts of fun things around our house and the kids had so much fun finding him every morning. When the elf came to our house the kids got to name him. So they picked to call him Friendly. So here are some of Friendly's activities during the month of Dec.
8. We took the kids to Cousin's restaurant to have breakfast and meet Santa. Needless to say the only tears that were shed were because Kestley didn't get to sit on Santa's Lap by herself.
9. We celebrated Christmas with my parents the night before they flew to Utah. The kids were excited and had alot of fun opening up Christmas gifts before Christmas.
10. I did a little photo shoot with the kids so they could show off their Christmas outfits.
11. Of course we had to end up sick again this year for Christmas. Trey woke up with pink eye and a really bad cold, and it wasn't long that the rest of us had colds and Kestley had pink eye. Oh and add some multiple pukings to that list too. Needless to say before the end of the year we were all hacking and coughing.
12. For Christmas eve we went over to Jeff's parents' house and had a very tasty dinner. We then read through the nativity story and sing Christmas songs that go along with the story. The kids all get dressed up and act out the different parts of the nativity. After that is over we all got to write on a card a gift that we could give or do for Jesus. At the end of the night we all got to open a gift from our buddy. We put everyone's name in a hat and draw out who we are going to buy a gift for in the family. It was such a special and fun night with a lot of memories made every year.
13. Christmas day we woke up to snow! We spent the day inside playing with our new toys. We also had Jeff's parents and brothers over for Christmas dinner. So again it was nice to get to spend time with family.
14. Everyone started feeling a little better so we spent the day out sledding and building a snowman. When it was time to come back in Kestley got upset and was worried that we were leaving the snowman outside all by himself.
15. One night we were spending time as a family and reading some stories about Christmas. Kestley was laying on the floor and Tenley crawled over and started snapping the elastic on her pants. She stood up and said No, Tenley those are my britches. However, She didn't say the R sound. Jeff replied how about we just call them pants. Kestley stood up with her hands on her hips got in Jeff's face and said Grandma calls them Britches (again no R sound) So I have to call them Britches( no R sound once again!) At this point Jeff and I were rolling on the floor we were laughing so hard. I love my family!
16. For new years eve this year I filled up a bunch of balloons with papers inside them. On each balloon I wrote a different hour. So when that hour came the kids got to pop a balloon and see what the activities was that they got to participate in. Some were fun, some were cleaning, and some were eating. But it was so fun to see the excitement on their faces as they got to do their countdown to the new year.
