August 2012

1. This month was a busy month for birthdays again. We celebrated my Dad's, Jeff's and Uncle Matt's Birthdays.

2. We had a party for my Dad at our house. I made a Cafe Rio Dinner with a Chocolate cake with Caramel frosting.

3. We celebrated our 11th Anniversary. We went over to Hood River and played around a golf, ate dinner at Quiznos, and then went to a new frozen yogurt place over there where you pick your flavor of yogurt and what ever topping you want.

4. The Start of fishing season!! However we didn't catch any on this trip. But it is still nice to go out and enjoy nature.

5. Soccer season also started. We had condition week, skills camp, and daily doubles all this month. It takes a lot of time but I love being a coach. It is so fun to get to work with the youth in this town and to be apart of their lives.(soccer Team Building)

6. I took Trey to get registered for school. I can't believe he is going to be in kindergarten this year. He has Mrs. Tenneson and Mrs. Ashbaugh who are team teaching. He also goes in the morning from 7:50-10:40. He is so excited to start school and he also has his "girl friend" Madison in his class.

7. We drove down to Eugene for the day to go to Jeff's Uncle Scott's surprise 60th birthday. It was fun to get to spend time with his cousins and aunts and uncles and his grandma. We also took a little detour afterwards and went shopping at the Woodburn outlet malls. And like always we found some great deals.

8. The next weekend we went to Oaks Park in Portland for the King family Reunion (Jeff's mom's side of the family). We took the kids to play mini golf, ate some great food, played bingo, and had a family auction for which Jeff got to be the auctioneer. Again it was fun to get to see family and get to spend a day with them.

9. Me and another leader in our church got to take the young women in our ward to Pendleton to the water park. I had never been there before but it is a very fun place for kids to go. It was also fun to get to spend the day with the yw and get to know them more.  We will be making a trip as a family sometime in the future to go there. the kids would love it.

10. We had a birthday party at our house for Jeff. His family and my parents came to celebrate.

11. I love having our parents in town. My kids get the opportunity to see their grandparents often. Here the kids are on one of the warm days having a water fight with grandma. I think she is hogging the water just a little bit!
 12. Tenley is 8 months old. The kids have found that Tenley loves to be in the middle of everything they are doing. If they set something down for two seconds she crawls over to it as fast as she can to check it out.

13. Jeff brought these suckers home from work for the kids. You would have thought that they won the lottery. It took them a few days to work on them but they were both diligent and worked on them until they were gone.
 14. My nephew Cordell came down and stayed for a few weeks with my parents. He got the chance to work with my dad. He also came over to our house everyday and played with Trey. I am not sure if Cordell had fun but I know that both my kids loved him and asked when he was coming over from the minute they woke up every morning.

 15. Tenley got to experience some of the toys we have in our house. She tested out the jumper and loved it until she realized she couldn't get out on her own.

 16. Tenley thinks that she is just as big as the other kids. She will be up and running around the house before too long. She is such a joy to our family. Her smile and personality can light up the room at anytime.
