December

This month is always a crazy and busy but it usually includes lots of family time, which is a good thing most the time!

1. I got tired of my living room and dining room being a light tan color so I decided to paint the dining room a different color. When I was picking out paint samples Jeff made fun of me because all my sample names were named after desserts. So he made sure to clarify that I wouldn't be eating the paint or licking the wall.  But I decided on spiced gingerbread. (the picture doesn't really show it very well.)

2.Jeff's mom and dad took Trey and his cousin Gavin to see the movie Tangled and then had a sleep over at grandma and grandpa's house. They also went shopping at the dollar store and bought gifts for everyone for Christmas. However, I don't think there was much sleeping that went on.

3. We also, had our yearly pictures taking of the kids. The lady this year was awful but the pictures turned out cute, there just weren't very many of them to choose from. I think she had 4 pictures of Kestley and 6 of Trey.

4. Basketball season started which means we will now be spending our free evenings watching high school basketball games. Kestley still isn't sure about it but we drag her along and she puts up with it.

5. Kestley had her 18 month check up. She weighed 26 lbs. and was 32 inches tall. Not only did she get shots at this check up but I decided to get her ears pierced. She wasn't too happy with that choice and cried for about an hour after until she fell asleep and slept for almost 4 hours. I guess that is a way to get her to take a good nap.

6. The month of Dec. has lots of birthdays for us. Emily and Stephanie both have their birthdays along with Gavin. We went to Gavin's Go Deigo birthday party, which had a pinata. Trey had so much fun "whacking the Deigo pinata with all his might"

7. We had a cookie party at Jeff's parents house. All of the girls (Teddie, Stephanie, My mom, and me) and all the kids spent a day baking cookies. We each made 2 or 3 different desserts/cookies. And when we were done we split them all up and took a variety of goodies to friends and neighbors.

8. We finally had a day of snow here. We didn't get much snow this year but as soon as we did get a little bit, that is all Trey wanted to do is to go outside and play. So he and I spent a day building a snow man and making giant snowballs.

9. During story time at our library they had Santa and the Grinch come. They also had an area set up for the kids to decorate cookies. Trey had a blast and Kestley was unsure about most of the events that day.

10. We had to take my parents to the airport because they were flying to Utah for Christmas. My mom was getting in the car and had a new sweatshirt on that still had the tags on it. So I told her it did and she said shhhh, she didn't want my dad to know it was new. About 3 seconds later we were all in the car and Trey said grandma how come you have so many L's on your shirt, as he was pointing to the size sticker that has about 12 L's on it. So much for my dad not finding out! Trey also spent the 10 days that they were gone asking numerous times a day if we could go back and pick grandma up at the airport. (I think he missed her a little!)

11. Trey comes up to us one day and says in his very excited high pitched voice, Guess what? It is almost Christmas! And then it is time for Christmas Wipeout!! We thought he was excited for Christmas but come to find out he was just excited for Christmas to be over so that he could watch the new Wipeouts that would be starting up in January!

  12. I got a new program for my Cricut which has been alot of fun to play with. These are a few of the cards that I have made.

13.  We spent Christmas eve with Jeff's family (his parents, Matt, Mike, Cambra, Stephanie's Family, and Susie) We had a wonderful dinner and lots of snacks. After dinner Teddie got all the kids dressed up to act out the nativity. His family reads the story out of the scriptures and sings songs to go along with it. It was so cute to see the kids dressed up and trying to act out the story. It was a very entertaining night especially when someone thought it would be funny to teach Mary and Joseph about birth control! I had a ton of cute pictures from Christmas even and some how I managed to lose them all so I guess no pictures for now!

14. Christmas! We spent the morning at our house. The kids didn't get up until almost 7:45, which I must say was nice. Trey was so excited when he saw that Santa had finally left him presents. Kestley just walked over to the tree and started ripping into the gifts. She just wanted all that annoying paper off so she could decide what to play with first. The last thing the kids opened was Big Foot which they didn't think they were going to get. Trey loved it, Kestley liked it until it came out of the box, then she was terrified of it. She was literally shaking. We then went back to Jeff's parents and had another tasty meal.

One thing I discovered this month is that I can take my blog and turn it into a book. I went to Blurb online and they have a thing that downloads your blog and puts it in book form. You can then edit and change the layout. So now we have a book that has all our blog posts from 2007-2009. It is a quick and easy way to scrapbook and have a paper copy of the things we have done.
